Iden Platform GuideSlack Bot
Overview
Let employees request and approve access without leaving Slack.
The Iden Slack bot brings the access request workflow directly into Slack. Employees use the /access command to request access to apps. Approvers (the people who review and approve requests) receive a Slack message with one-click Approve and Reject buttons - no need to log in to the Iden dashboard.
What the Slack bot does
- Employees can request access to apps by typing
/accessdirectly in Slack - Approvers receive Slack notifications for pending requests and can approve or reject them in one click
- Everyone receives status updates when a request is approved, rejected, or when access has been set up
- Admins (people who manage your Iden organization) receive alerts for app disconnections and other important events
Before you start
- You must be a Slack workspace admin to install the Iden bot
- The bot connects using a secure authorization process called OAuth (a standard way apps connect to each other without sharing passwords) - no credentials are stored by Iden
