Iden Platform GuideAccess Management

Overview

Control how access is requested, approved, and governed across your organization.

This section explains how Iden manages access to apps and tools inside your organization. By the end, you will understand the four main areas of access management and where to go for each one.

Iden gives you a clear, trackable process for every access decision - from an employee asking for a new tool, all the way to an admin setting someone up on day one.

How access requests work

When an employee needs access to an app, they submit a ticket (a formal request). The ticket travels through a chain of approvers you have set up in advance. Once all approvers say yes, Iden automatically gives the employee access. Every step is recorded so you always have a full history.

Access policies let you decide which apps and permissions employees are even allowed to request. You can also set limits on how long access can last.

Approval routing lets you choose who approves which requests. You can set up multiple approvers, different approval chains for different apps, and backup approvers in case someone is unavailable.

Direct grants let admins give someone access immediately, without going through the ticket process. This is helpful for new hires, urgent situations, or setting up access in bulk.

The screen below shows the four main areas you can explore:

Reviewing existing access

If you want to audit or review access that has already been granted across your organization, see Access Reviews. That section covers review campaigns, recurring review cycles, and how to remove access when it is no longer needed.
